What's this on the front? A plane, a tower ...a gorilla?
We've never done that before! So why now? It's because of
the incredible woman we're featuring and who we're thrilled
to have grace our cover ...VICTORIA RISKIN!
King Kong may be in her background (her mother was the
"Beauty" to his "Beast"), but as you'll find out in the feature
article by Julia McHugh, there is so much more to know about
Victoria. She's in the forefront of women today, as a writer,
producer and champion of human rights, fighting for social
justice and making a difference in the world.
Her mother was once carried away by the mighty Kong,
and I have a feeling that reading this issue of Woman magazine,
you'll find yourself carried away with Victoria, an amazing
spirit with many accomplishments.
I hope you'll find yourself swept away in many of the articles
we have for you in this issue.
Get caught up in the exotic sights and cultural beauty of
Africa, as you follow photographer Bonnie Muench on her adventure
across seven African countries.
Allow yourself to experience a little taste
of Spain in the article on tapas, with recipes included
by Carlos Lopez-Hollis of Cava restaurant.
And, as you step into spring, make the journey more comfortable
by taking care to protect yourself from a very common problem
— heel pain, or plantar fasciitis. The article
by Penny Smith describes common causes and gives good advice
for recovery.
This season, keep in mind the lighthearted approach we
took with our magazine cover and remember - have fun!
